GoopGlow 15% Glycolic Acid Overnight Glow Peel Review | Goop Beauty

Goop. It's the controversial brand run by Gwyneth Paltrow and it's the hot topic on everybody lips in the beauty industry. From sex products to skincare, Goop is bringing every woman the products they never knew they needed, and doing so with wellness at the centre. But is it any good?

Goop Glow is the retinol face, neck and chest mask that everybody's talking about. It promises visible results overnight - and who doesn't want to wake up to fresh, youthful looking skin in the morning!? I put it to the test and documented it below...let's see if it's any good!

PACKAGING

It's a beautiful package. Gold and shiny, it looks good in any bathroom and feels like a luxury product from the get go. The instructions are clear and elegantly written, and it's a product that would grab my attention on the shelf.

INGREDIENTS

Here is a full ingredient list:

Water (Aqua), Glycolic Acid, Alcohol Denat., Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide, Propanediol, Spondias Mombin Pulp Extract, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Pulp Extract, Musa Sapientum (Banana) Pulp Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Terminalia Ferdinandiana Fruit Extract, Zizyphus Jujuba Seed Extract, Lavendula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ascorbic Acid, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Galactoarabinan, Piperonyl Glucose, Citric Acid, Decyl Glucoside, Levan, Xylitol, Caprylic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenethyl Alcohol, Benzyl Alcohol, Potassium Sorbate

I generally try to avoid skincare products with alcohol but the amounts used in this product are fairly small to do any serious damage, and the use of hyaluronic acid balances out the drying effect that alcohol can have. All in all though the ingredients look fairly natural, and it's nice to be able to understand what's going in my skincare

RESULTS:

Well, what a pleasant surprise!

When you read most skincare experts reviews, their verdict if goop products tends tends be rather negative. I can never truly work out whether that is because the sheer idiocy of some of the things Gywneth Paltrow (the founder of Goop) taints her reputation, but I was expecting this to be a dud.

The morning after though? Clear, glowing skin. I cleansed my face in the usual way and immediately noticed a more dewy look.

All in all I'd recommend this product. I liked how it felt on my skin, I liked that it could be used across my face and chest, and I liked the results in the morning. Plus, it's boujie - anything with the Goop name immediately draws attention and makes you feel like you're being pampered - and sometimes that placebo is enough to make anything feel wonderful.

Until next time...
