Easter Craft Ideas for Kids

My kids love a craft. Give them a wad of paper and a handful of glitter glue pens and they are away for the afternoon making costumes, cards and all sorts of collage pictures. Sometimes it's nice to shape their creativity and I find these Easter Crafts are great for even the littlest of fingers - enjoy!


Handprint chickens

YOU WILL NEED:

- Plain white paper
- Black pen
- Orange pen
- Feathers
- Stick on google eyes
- Glue
- Wooden pegs 
- Scissors

HOW TO:

1. Place hand on plain paper and draw around using the black pen. Carefully cut out with scissors

2. Stick two google eyes on and draw a beak using an orange pen.

3. Cover the uncovered area of the hand in glue and stick feathers on, being careful not to cover the eyes and the beak

4. Place two wooden pegs at the bottom of the hand (where the wrist should be) for legs and you're done!


Paper plate bunny ears

YOU WILL NEED:

- White paper Plate
- Pink paper
- Black pen
- Scissors
- Glue

HOW TO:

1. Using the black pen, draw two bunny ears and around the rim of the paper plate. Carefully cut out with scissors.

2.  Draw two ear inserts using the black pen onto the pink card and carefully cut out with scissors. Glue these to the inside of the ears. 

3. Fold the ears up so that you have a 'hat' structure. Voila!


Easter Cards

YOU WILL NEED:

- Glue
- Scissors
- Collage items
- Pens/pencils
- Coloured card folded into A5 size

HOW TO:

1. The world really is your oyster here. Get the children to create a design for the front and stick collage materials on, then write an Easter message to a friend or family member.


Easter Baskets

YOU WILL NEED:

- Easter bonnet packs (Baker Ross)
- Collage materials
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pens/pencils

HOW TO:

1. Following the Easter Basket pack instructions, form the basket shape. 

2. Using glue, scissors and craft materials, decorate your basket!


Cress Sheep

YOU WILL NEED:

- Paper plate
- Cotton wool
- Water
- Cress seeds
- Black pen
- Stick on google eyes
- Glue

HOW TO:

1. Draw a sheep outline onto the paper plate using the black pen - don't forget the legs and the tail!

2. Stick two google eyes onto the sheep and draw a mouth.

3. Using glue, stick cotton wool all over the 'body' of the sheep, being careful not the cover the eyes.

4. Slightly damped the cotton wool using fingers dipped in water and sprinkle cress seeds onto. Wait for the beauties to grow!


Easter Wreath

YOU WILL NEED:

- Coloured card
- Hole punch
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pens/Pencils

HOW TO:

1. On your coloured card draw Easter egg shapes using the pens. For the best effect, draw Easter egg shapes on multiple colours of card. Carefully cut out with scissors

2. Glue the edges of the Easter egg shapes and stick together in the shape of a circle.

3. Use the hole punch to make a hole at the top of your wreaths shape

4. Cut a strip of ribbon and thread through the hole, tying it together to make a way to hang your wreath.

5. Decorate your wreath with any additional items and hang somewhere for all the world to see!
